Hope Academy Airport Trip

Today 45 children from Hope Academy, accompanied by teachers and helpers visited Arusha Airport. The children were hesitant initially when invited by the airport staff to get close to the aircraft, although this quickly changed. Seeing the aircraft take-off and land was very exciting and the children were fascinated by the noise.

Cancer Research UK - Race for Life
Saturday 6th June 2009
Thousands descended on a rain drenched Tatton Park in Cheshire today in order to run, jog or walk either the 5km or 10km Race for Life course. Many turned up in bright pink tops, wigs and fancy dress and were clearly determined that the weather was not going to get in the way of their fun morning. Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event organised by Cancer Research UK.

WCG Influenza Antiviral Drug Search Project Update

The World Community Grid statistics for the Influenza Antiviral Drug Search Project show that two milestones have already been passed in terms of the amount of work done, even though the project has only been running for one month. The research is looking to address the influenza strains that have become drug resistant as well as new strains that are appearing.

World Community Grid announces the launch of the Influenza Antiviral Drug Search project by Dr. Stan Watowich and his research team at The University of Texas Medical Branch (Galveston, Texas, USA). The research will specifically address the influenza strains that have become drug resistant as well as new strains that are appearing.
